Sally Read: A Modern Conversion Story

Sally Read, an award winning poet, psychiatric nurse, and a former anti-Catholic atheist converted to Catholicism in nine months; she details her conversion to Catholicism in her book, Night’s Bright Darkness: A Modern Conversion Story.

While writing a book about women, she spoke with a Catholic priest, and this encounter led her on a spiritual journey in which she discovered Christ, and finally, His Church on earth. Within nine months, she was received into the Catholic Church at St. Peter’s in Rome. In her journey to the Catholic Church, she experienced a life-changing encounter with Christ which embedded deeply in her a great desire for the Eucharistic Christ.
