Carolina Catholic talks to Father Dave Pivonka, TOR
President of Franciscan University of Steubenville

For our first show in January 2020, my guest is Father Dave Pivonka, president of Franciscan University of Steubenville (FUS), who spoke to me about a pending United States Supreme Court case, R.G. and G.R. Harris Funeral Homes, Inc. v. EEOC, that FUS has joined other religious institutions in filing an amicus curiae brief (friend of the court), so that the Court does not redefine the word, sex, to include gender identity. Fr. Dave speaks to us about the theological implications in this case, and FUS bioethics chair, Dr. Patrick Lee, speaks about the practical and bioethical implications of this case.

This show will air on Wilmington Catholic Radio's four stations, 91.7 FM, 93.1 FM, and 103.1 FM in Wilmington and 100.7 FM in Southport the first and second weekends of January, Saturdays at 11 a.m. and Sundays at 6 p.m.

St. Michael the Archangel

Wilmington Catholic Radio is an apostolate serving the Catholic Church and consistently operating in accord with the principles and truths of the Catholic Faith as expressed in Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition and the living Magisterium of the Church. Our goal is to always provide the community with solid Catholic teaching so Catholics can have an easy way to learn more about their faith, and for non-Catholics to learn what the Church really teaches. This is our mission.
