The simple answer is, "Not what you expected."

Here is a picture of our beautiful facilities. Remember beauty is in the eye of the beholder. We rent a small amount of space In the left hand building where the Wilmington Catholic Radio equipment is located. Shared with us is the transmitting equipment of our Downtown Wilmington affiliate, WBPL-LP, that broadcasts on 93.1 FM.

Also, we don't have a studio full of on-air personalities, station engineers, glass booths, and lots of knobs and dials.  All we have is a large closet, honest!  Look at it.  The black cabinet houses all the station equipment except for the antennas.

Gone are the days of a room full of equipment.

Inside the black cabinet is a rack that holds the satellite receiver, tone decoder,  computer, audio processors, the Emergency Alert System equipment, the transmitter and other miscellaneous equipment.    There's not a microphone to be found!
Outside of the building that houses the black cabinet is our antenna -100 feet up the side of a 400 foot tower -through which we are putting out a miserly 97 Watts but backed with the power of the Holy Spirit.
Other equipment we use, not pictured above, is the portable recording equipment used to record Carolina Catholic or the microphones and computers, located in the homes of our volunteers, used to record our Public Service announcements.

St. Michael the Archangel

Wilmington Catholic Radio is an apostolate serving the Catholic Church and consistently operating in accord with the principles and truths of the Catholic Faith as expressed in Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition and the living Magisterium of the Church. Our goal is to always provide the community with solid Catholic teaching so Catholics can have an easy way to learn more about their faith, and for non-Catholics to learn what the Church really teaches. This is our mission.
