Dear Friends of Wilmington Catholic Radio,

I’m writing this annual letter to you early this year. The reason will be apparent when you finish this letter.

We hope you have had a chance to listen to our new locally produced show, Carolina Catholic, that airs on the first two weekends of each month at 11AM on Saturday and 6 PM on Sunday. We recently added another locally produced show called “A Feast of Irish Folk.” It is on at the same times as Carolina Catholic but on the 3rd and 4th weekends of the month. It is our hope that this program may attract some non-Catholics to the station and that they may start listening to some of our other programing.

We now have several more volunteers giving us their time and talent. In each parish we have a Wilmington Catholic Radio representative to help with promoting the station and getting our announcements in the bulletins. Three other volunteers are available to produce local parish announcements for broadcasting. Another volunteer helps with maintaining our station equipment and logs and last but not least we have someone to help us maintain our computer software which keeps the station programming running as it should. Of course we don’t pay them but they know their benefits are out of this world.

The last volunteer I mentioned is also in the process of developing a web-site for the station at www.wilmingtoncatholicradio.com or www.wbpl-lp.com and should be ready by late spring. At the website, among other things, you will be able to listen to or down load all of the Carolina Catholic shows, see our program schedule, send us comments and answer our latest pole question.

This year the Bruce Cavenaugh Charity Raffle is coming early and we are again participating. It is by far, our most important annual fund raiser so we hope that you can help us again this year. For every $20.00 donated to Wilmington Catholic Radio from now until June 8th, you will receive by mail, a chance to win, one of two, 2008 Suzuki’s. For example, if you donate $100.00, you will receive 5 raffle tickets. The drawing will be televised live on WECT and WWAY on June 25th. Please note that the raffle is completely funded by Bruce Cavenaugh’s auto stores and 100% of your donation will go to support Wilmington Catholic Radio. Thanks in advance for your generosity.

Your comments and questions are always welcome.

May Our Lord’s blessings be upon you and your family,

William Hamilton

Wilmington Catholic Radio is an apostolate serving the Catholic Church and consistently operating in accord with the principles and truths of the Catholic Faith as expressed in Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition and the living Magisterium of the Church. Our goal is to always provide the community with solid Catholic teaching so Catholics can have an easy way to learn more about their faith, and for non-Catholics to learn what the Church really teaches. This is our mission.
